Bio -

The Poison Oakies are a Country and Western band formed in 2015, in the San Joaquin Valley and foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, in Northern California.

Growing up in rural areas, they were exposed to country music from an early age. They were all drawn to the classic country sounds of the 70's, 80's and 90's from artists such as Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Dwight Yoakam and George Strait.

In high school, they all started playing music and formed various bands. Eventually, MUCH later in life, they crossed paths and decided to form a country band that was focused on the sounds they loved from their childhood.

Their very first gigs were BBQ's and Pool Parties, playing to friends and family. That swiftly transitioned into playing local bars and clubs throughout Northern California. They quickly gained an ardent following which has led to bookings into bigger venues and festivals.

Despite their success, the band members have remained humble and grounded. They're proud of their roots and the impact they have made on the local country music scene.

Today, The Poison Oakies continue to gig out and play their signature hardcore country sound. They've become a respected fixture in the Northern California music scene and a source of pride for any fan of country music.
