Hailing from the Gold Country foothills and central valley of northern California, The Poison Oakies are a dynamic and electrifying dance band dedicated to honoring the timeless traditions of country and western music.

Inspired by the authenticity and soul of 80's and 90's country music legends such as Dwight Yoakam, George Strait, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, and Toby Keith, The Poison Oakies deliver a high-energy, dance-able experience that stays true to the original spirit of the genre. Their performances are marked by a meticulous attention to detail, ensuring each chart-topping hit song resonates with the audience just as the originals did.

Formed in 2015, the band consists of Ian on lead vocals and guitar, Joe on lead guitar and vocals, John on bass guitar, David on keyboards and backing vocals, and Chris on drums and backing vocals. Although primarily a cover band, The Poison Oakies have graced notable venues including the Ironstone Amphitheater, Morgan Hill Amphitheater, Windmill Cove, and the Calaveras County Fair and Frog Jump. Their yet to fulfill dream gig, is to perform at Buck Owens' Crystal Palace in Bakersfield, a symbolic venue of country music tradition.

The Poison Oakies are renowned for their musical prowess and dedication to preserving the essence of classic country and western music. Their commitment to delivering authentic performances sets them apart, making them a beloved fixture in the local music scene.
